In the presence of HE President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the oath taking ceremony of newly commissioned Ensigns of the Class of 2015 was held at the Hellenic Naval Academy.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, the Chief of HNDGS General Michail Kostarakos, the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Vasileios Tellidis and the Chief of HAFGS Lieutenant General Christos Vaitsis. It was also attended by the Alternate Minister of Shipping Thodoris Dritsas.
The young Ensigns were awarded their swords by HE President of the Hellenic Republic.
Totally, 55 Ensigns took their oath (6 of them are female). 40 of them are deck officers and 15 are naval engineers. Among these Ensigns, 2 are Cypriots and 2 Libyans.
