The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, accompanied by the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Vasileios Tellidis attended the oath taking ceremony of newly recruited conscripts of the 2015 B Enlistment series which was held at the Special Forces Training Centre.
The Minister of National Defence addressed the following statement:
“In the presence of the War flag which precedes everything, in the presence of the Military Chiefs and with the blessing of the Holy Gospel, you took the oath of Greek soldiers today. You are among the chosen youth of our nation.
Today, it is not only your families and parents who are proud, the entire Greek people are proud that the best of the Armed Forces took your oath and you assumed the responsibility of defending the national sovereignty and the territorial integrity of our country.
I wish you have the protection of the Holy Virgin, of Saint George and be aware that all your trainers, NCOs and Officers, the entire military and political leadership, we will stand by you over the entire period of your military service.
Our country counts on you. We are proud, as are your parents who raised you, to watch you today taking your soldier oath in the Hellenic Arm, taking your oath as the chosen ones of the Special Forces. In a few days you will leave this camp and you will staff the units in Evros, on the Greek islands, all over the Greek territory. I wish you to have a good service and to become good citizens.
