The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, the Minister of State Nikos Pappas, the Deputy Minister for Macedonia and Thrace Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, the Chief of HNDGS Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Vasileios Tellidis, the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Georgios Giakoumakis, the Chief of HAFGS Lieutenant General Christos Vaitsis, Members of Parliament, representatives of the Local Authorities and the Church attended the final stage of “PARMENION 2015” Field Exercise which was conducted on the field of exercises at Lavara, Evros prefecture.

The Minister of National Defence stated the following:

“During the last stage of the exercise, the high morale and the professionalism of the Armed Forces, the participation of the National Guard prove that, despite the financial crisis, we keep up our strength, because we are a nation with long history that never relinquished its national sovereignty and never surrendered its territorial integrity.

The Greek people, altogether, support the Armed Forces and we will move onto tomorrow thanks to the support of the government and of the other political forces.”

The Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, the Minister of National Defence, Panos Kammenos, the Minister of State, Nikos Pappas, the Chief of HNDGS, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, and the Chief of HAGS, Lieutenant General Vasileios Tellidis, visited Skopelos Island to be informed about the progress of the restoration works of the road network, which are conducted by Engineer units, due to damages caused by a recent flooding. They also visited flood-stricken areas of the island.
