The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos accompanied by the Chief of HNDGS Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis and the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Vasileios Tellidis, attended the inauguration of apartments of residence for the personnel of the 180th HAWK Missiles Battalion at “Captain Ioannis Raptis” camp, Polydendri, Attica region.
The apartments were built after a donation by the chairman and managing director of “Star Investments” Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos, to the memory of his father Lieutenant General Othon Kyriakopoulos who was the first commander of this unit.
In his address, the Minister of National Defence thanked Panos Kyriakopoulos for his donation and expressed his hope that this may be an example for all those who wish to contribute to the Armed Forces.
He praised the Armed Forces’ morale which he characterized as the biggest weapon they have to defend our country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and he stressed that the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence will do its best to improve the financial situation of the Armed Forces’ personnel.
