The Minister of National Defence PANOS KAMMENOS met with the Alternate Minister of Health and MP for Chania PAVLOS POLAKIS, the MPs for Chania VALIA VAGIONAKI and ANASTASIOS VAMVOUKAS and members of the “Anexartitoi Ellines” political party at the Prefecture of Chania.
At their meeting, they decided to begin the procedure for a 99-year concession of the Military Camp “Markopoulou” in Chania, which belongs to the National Defence Fund, according to the legislation of the Directorate for the Armed Forces Real Estate Development (D.A.F.R.E.D), as it was also announced by Prime Minister ALEXIS TSIPRAS at the Regional Conference of Crete.
In addition, the Alternate Minister of Health, the MPs, the Mayor of Chania and the members of the “Anexartitoi Ellines” political party requested that the military camp is immediately released – for the procedures to advance – and that it is not used as an enlistment point for recruits.
