February 10, 2015

The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos had consecutive meetings with the Ambassador of France to Greece Mr. Jean Loup Kuhn-Delforge and with the Ambassador of Spain to Greece Mr. Alfonso Lucini Mateo.

After the meetings the Minister of National Defence made the following statement:

“Today, I met with the French Ambassador, the Spanish Ambassador and the Military Attachés. We had the possibility to exchange views about the continuation of the cooperation between the Greek Ministry of National Defence and the Ministries for National Defence of France and Spain.
With the French Ambassador we discussed about the cooperation potentials which exist in the field of defence industry and I also received an invitation by the French Defence Minister to visit France. We will continue our common activities and we will initiate a discussion about the entire common defence programme between France and Greece, two countries which have always cooperated in both difficult and happy times.
I also met the Spanish Ambassador and the Military Attaché. We both Spain and Greece, agreed, in the framework of NATO and European Union, to follow a common cooperation policy in defence; particularly with regards to the southern branch of the alliance and the confrontation of international terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism which begins to threaten the countries of the West.”
