The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos met with the President of the “Alliance of Citizens” party of Cyprus Giorgos Lillikas.

They discussed about the current political-financial developments in Greece and Cyprus and issues of the wider region.

After their meeting the stated the following:

P.KAMMENOS: Our course started much earlier than politics. I should say that we were fellow students with the President in France. When the pseudostate was proclaimed, then from different political positions, we began protests against the Turkish consulate in Lyon, where we did the first occupation together. Now Giorgos Lillikas is the President of a patriot movement in Cyprus and I, as an “Independent Hellene” and as the Minister of National Defence, from the depths of my heart, I will award my friend and political patriot, Giorgos Lillikas, the official emblem of the National Defence

G. LILLIKAS:  Thank you very much. It is a great honour for me. I want to say it in public that the Greek people of Cyprus understand the Greek government, they understand what they pretend to and they totally sympathize the struggle of the Greek government today because I have said many times the big national issues which Greece and Cyprus are facing are interconnected, the future is common and common should be also the struggle. This is why I believe that the time perhaps has come for us to move on also to a nationwide conference which will end up to a nationwide strategy which will address all national problems.
