Defence Minister Panos Kammenos’ meetings with the Ambassador of the U.S.A. to Greece Mr. David Pearce and the Ambassador of Russia to Greece Mr. Andrey Maslov

The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos had consecutive meetings with the Ambassador of the United States to Greece Mr. David Pearce and with the Ambassador of Russia to Greece Mr. Andrey Maslov on Tuesday, February 3.

The Minister of National Defence stated the following:

“My meetings with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Athens Mr. David Pearce and the Ambassador of Russia to Greece Mr. Andrey Maslov were completed shortly before. The Ministry of National Defence and the Ambassador of the United States assured each other about the continuation of the cooperation between the two countries in the context of NATO, about the further enhancement of the cooperation in the field of the arms industry and the exchange of training courses between the two countries’ Armed Forces.

The discussion with the ambassador of Russia Mr. Maslov was also about the pending agreements between the Ministries of National Defence of Greece and Russia, the capabilities of a strategic cooperation, the organisation of the year of Greek-Russian friendship in 2016 which will take place in Greece and in Russia. I received an invitation by Russia’s Minister of Defence to visit Moscow within the next period of time”.
