The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos met with the NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller who pays an official visit to Greece.
They exchanged opinions on topics concerning the Alliance in view of the forthcoming NATO Summit next July.
They also emphasized on the importance of the new NATO Command Structure for the new security challenges, particularly in the South, to be addressed, through a closer cooperation also with the countries of the Mediterranean Dialogue and the Gulf countries.
Moreover, the Minister of National Defence raised issues concerning the reliability of NATO as a security provider also towards its member-states, drawing attention to dangerous conducts which undermine the unity of the Alliance.
