The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos accompanied by the Chief of HNDGS Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis pays an official visit to Egypt. He met with his Egyptian counterpart General Sedky Sobhy and the Minister of Military Production Dr Mohammed Saeed Al-Assar.

With his Egyptian counterpart they discussed about the reinforcement of the bilateral defence cooperation and exchanged views on the developments in the wider area of South-Eastern Mediterranean Sea and Northern Africa.

Panos Kammenos invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Greece at a time to be determined by the diplomatic correspondence.

With the Minister of Military Production of Egypt they discussed about issues of cooperation between the two countries’ defence industries and the capabilities of co-production of defence weapon systems.

On Thursday, September 22, 2016, the three Ministers will attend the first meeting of public and private defence industries of the two countries.

The Chief of HNDGS Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis met with the Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces General Staff Lieutenant General Mahmoud Hegazi.

They discussed issues of bilateral interest in the context of the cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
