Defence Minister Panos Kammenos’ statement about the Hellenic Air Force Officers who lost their lives while on duty

The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos attended the Funeral Mass for the two officers of the Hellenic Air Force who lost their lives in Albacete, Spain, while on duty.

Answering questions of journalists, Mr. Kammenos stated the following:

P.KAMMENOS: The Nation, the Armed Forces of the country, the Ministry of National Defence, the entire Greek people farewell two heroes today; two heroes who fell in peace time while on duty. They are among all those heroes of the Hellenic Air Force, of the Armed Forces, among those who fell for our security, for the protection of our National sovereignty and our country’s territorial integrity.

JOURNALIST: Minister, do you have any information about when we will know the exact causes for the accident?

P.KAMMENOS: The investigations are being conducted successfully, there is video material and the Hellenic Air Force proceeds with the inquiry into the accident.

JOURNALIST 2: Has the second box we are looking for been found?

P.KAMMENOS: I will not get into details.
