The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos after the end of the military parade on the anniversary of the 25th of March, 1821, made the following statement:
“I wish to publicly congratulate the Armed Forces, the Chiefs, Officers, NCOs, Privates, Airmen, Seamen, National Guards on their high morale, professionalism and their continuous contribution to our nation.
Today, Greek people, even under the rain, were here to applause the Armed Forces who are children of the Greek people.
Our country’s Armed Forces are ready to face any challenge, to ensure our country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Also in peace time, our Armed Forces are ready to contribute to the social work that our nation is obliged to and does offer it traditionally.
I wish, once more, on this National Anniversary, on the Anniversary of the Greek Revolution, to assure the Greek people that our country’s Armed Forces not only are ready, but that, apart from the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, they ensure Democracy as well.
We will continue to contribute to the social work, we will continue to relief human pain. Besides, this is our nation’s fate: to offer at difficult times, because Greece taught humanism, Democracy, as well as human values.”
