The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, accompanied by delegates of the Greek Defence Industry, visited the European Defence Organisation (EDA) where he discussed with the Chief Executive Jorge Domecq the capabilities to enhance our country’s cooperation with the Organisation.
Panos Kammenos presented the sectors of particular Greek interest for participation to EDA programmes, where our country has trained personnel, efficient experience and the appropriate infrastructure, as well as issues concerning the enhancement of Defence Industry, especially concerning SMEs and their access to supply chains.
Mr. Domecq brought out the participation and active role that Greece has to many EDA programmes, particularly naval initiatives, energy, the environment and air transport.
The delegates of the Greek Defence Agency had the opportunity, for the first time at a ministerial meeting, to present their capabilities and production sectors, as well as issues concerning their development, while Mr. Domecq referred to the Organisation’s efforts to support defence industry and its willingness for cooperation towards this direction.
Panos Kammenos invited the Organisation to send a delegation to Greece within the forthcoming days, so as to promote cooperation in programmes of mutual interest.
