Defence Minister’s Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos visit at the 401 Military Hospital of Athens and inauguration of the Molecular Biology Laboratory Centre

March 12, 2012

The Minister of National Defence Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos visited today the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and inaugurated the Molecular Biology Laboratory Centre.

During his visit, Mr. Avramopoulos addressed the cadres and the personnel of the Hospital. Below follows an excerpt of the Minister’s speech:

«Today, a supermodern infrastructure is inaugurated in this Hospital, updating the services provided since it gives them the opportunity, through molecular control effected in this unit, to be identified, and you know how important this is for our history, especially after all that has happened during the past 50 years, when we were all waiting for the revelation of facts pertaining to the sacrifices made by our own people, military but also civilians, at hard times, either related to the Albanian front, or to Cyprus.

However, this service is placed at the disposal of research. I am certain that the exceptional scientists environing and staffing the Armed Forces’ sanitary system will exploit it, offering new capabilities to this field, for the combat against sickness, all forms of sickness”.
