The Minister of National Defence Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos today paid a visit at SEEBRIG (South Eastern European Brigade), which is located at Tirnavos and whose Commander for the biennium 2011-2013 is a Skopjan Brigadier.
During his visit, Mr. Avramopoulos met with the Minister of Defence of FYROM Mr. Fatimir Besimi. The two Ministers discussed matters pertaining to the two countries’ defence relations.
Mr. Avramopoulos also visited the Hellenic European Union Operational Headquarters (EL EU OHQ) at Larissa, as well as NATO’s Operational Centre CAOC (Combined Air Operations Centre) at Koutsohero-Larissa.
The Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General M. Kostarakos, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General K. Ziazias and the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General A. Tsantirakis.
