The Minister of National Defence Mr. Fragkoulis Fragkos represented today the Hellenic Government at the annual memorial service which took place in the Mountain Commando Companies’ Monument at Kavouri – Attica, in honour of Commandos and Ierolohites (members of the Sacred Company) who lost their lives during the struggles for the nation (89 officers and 611 soldiers).
The memorial service was also attended by the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Viron Polidoras, the Minister of State Mr. Antonios Arghiros, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Iosif Iosif, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Mihail Kostarakos and the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Konstantinos Ziazias.
Wreaths in memoriam of the fallen Commandos and Ierolohites were presented by the Minister of National Defence, the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament and the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus.
