The Minister of National Defence Mr. F. Fragkos, accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force Lieutenant General A. Tsantirakis, paid a non scheduled visit at the 114 Combat Wing in Tanagra.
During his visit, Mr. Fragkos discussed with the high readiness aircraft pilots and technicians and he was briefed on matters pertaining to personnel, operational planning and logistics.
Following the completion of his visit, the Minister of National Defence made the following statement:
“During my visit at 114 Combat Wing I had the chance to discover the personnel’s high morale and excellent level of operational readiness.
The Hellenic Air Force is not simply a deterrent factor but a silent yet powerful force. It is the force constantly ensuring national air space and, jointly with the two other service branches, the Army and the Navy, national sovereignty and integrity.
I warmly congratulate the Chief, the Commanders and the personnel of the 114 Combat Wing who have shown us that today, whereas a holiday, is far from being a day of indolence for the country’s Armed Forces”.
