By decision of the Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panaghiotopoulos, the Preventive Medicine Programme for inhabitants of the islands in the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese will be expanded and improved. More specifically a Joint Medical Team, which will embark on Hellenic Navy vessels, will offer its services to the populations of small islands at the borderline of the Aegean, in the framework of the Armed Forces’ social contribution.
The Joint Medical Team will be comprised of medical personnel of the Armed Forces, with the specialties of Pathologist, Cardiologist and Pediatrician permanently onboard and other specialties in cycles, according to the demands and as the needs will be formed by the islands’ populations.
