The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos had a working meeting today with the Chairman of the “TRIAINA” Union of employees at Skaramanga Shipyards Mr. Vassilis Karakitsos and the members of the Union’s Administrative Board Vaggelis Baloyiannis, Nikolaos Petropoulos, Theodoros Koutras, Konstantinos Stamatakis, Vassilis Tsimpidis, as well as the Chairman of the Panhellenic Metalworkers’ Federation Mr. Yiannis Stefanopoulos.

Aim of their meeting was to discuss the situation prevailing at the Skaramanga Shipyards, which have assumed – with the respective contracts – the shipbuilding of Hellenic Navy vessels, as well as the problems faced by the shipyards’ employees.

The meeting was also attended by the MP in Piraeus A’ Electoral District & Islands with the ‘Coalition of the Radical Left’ party (responsible of Parliamentary Group for Defence) Mr. Theodoros Dritsas, the MP in Boeotia with the ‘Coalition of the Radical Left’ party (responsible for labour matters) Mr. Ioannis Stathas, the Special Secretary of the Ministry of National Defence Mr. Antonis Oikonomou and the head of the Hellenic Public Sector’s negotiation team, professor Mr. Panayiotis Bernitsas.
