The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos, received today at a courtesy meeting the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Navy, Rear Admiral Osama Ahmed Ahmed El Gendy, who pays an official visit to our country.
Mr. Gendy extended to Mr. Panagiotopoulos the Egyptian Defence Minister’s, General Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, intention to visit our country.
It should be noted that the Greek minister’s invitation towards his Egyptian counterpart was made during Mr. Panagiotopoulos’ visit to Egypt and his visit with General Al-Sisi in Cairo.
During their meeting, which took place at a very friendly environment, the two men discussed matters of mutual interest, as well as the perspective of closer cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Kosmas Christidis.
