The Minister of National Defence Panos Panagiotopoulos will pay an official visit to Lebanon, following an invitation extended by the Lebanese Government.
During his visit, he will meet tomorrow, Monday (8-4-2013) and on Tuesday, the day after, with the political leadership of the State and the Government, with the Lebanese Minister of Defence, as well as with leading members of the governing coalition but also the Opposition.
Specifically, Mr. Panagiotopoulos will meet, among others, with the following:
- The President of the Republic of Lebanon Mr. Michel Sleiman
- The Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr. Najib Mikati
- The Minister of Defence Mr. Fayez Ghosn
- The Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Samir Mokbel
- The Speaker of the parliament of Lebanon Mr. Nabih Berri
- The Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Jean Kahwaji
- The former Prime Minister and one of the leaders of the Official Opposition Mr. Fouad Siniora
- The leading member of parties participating in the governmental coalition Mr. Walid Joumblatt
Moreover, the Minister of National Defence will meet with the Lebanese Greek-Orthodox Leader, his Eminence Metropolitan of Beirut Elias Audi, and he will also have a working meeting with the Heads of the Unifil mission (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) where Greece is participating.
