The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos, during his official visit to Qatar, visited the Air Force Base at Doha, where he met with the Chief of the Qatari Air Force, Brigadier General Mubarak Mohammed Al Kumait Al Khayarin, as well as with staff officers and discussed matters of defence cooperation between the two countries.

After the end of their meeting, Mr. Panagiotopoulos made the following statement:

“Our decision is stable. It is a decision taken by both sides, to proceed to closer relations between the three branches of Greek and Qatari Armed Forces.

Here, at the Qatari Air Force Base of Doha, we had the chance to exchange interesting views with the leadership and the staff officers, on ways to further enhance our cooperation.

We decided to send here trainers who will further train the Qatari pilots of military aircraft and accept in our Military Academies officers and NCOs from Qatar, who want to upgrade their training at to modern military aircraft”.
