The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos, following the completion of the military parade in honour of the National Day of March 25th, made the following statement:
“The 25th of March is a great religious and national holiday. This year, this holiday coincides with a very difficult period, with perilous times, during which storms and hurricanes storm the global scene and our neighbourhood as well. For this reason, this year the word of this day is to the point, more than ever for our people, for all of us.
Hellenism, over his historic course through the centuries, was repeatedly found between the hammer and the anvil; yet he always managed to get through, stand on his feet, overcome the difficulties and go forth. The lessons we have leaned through history, along with the great effort made by the Hellenic people demonstrate that once more we can make it. And we will make it, provided that we will stay united, keep our national and social cohesion and combine audacity with prudence, high spirit with good sense.
Many happy returns to all, on the occasion of this great religious and national celebration”.
