The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos, accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral K. Christidis, made an unscheduled visit at the Naval Base “KANELLOPOULOS”, where he asked to be briefed on the spot on the reasons of the fire which broke out on the class ZUBR vessel “KERKYRA” (L-182), on Monday July 30 2012.

Mr. Paragiotopoulos ordered that the conduct of a sworn administrative enquiry should be accelerated and the conclusion clarifying the reasons of the fire should be issued as soon as possible.
