The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands, where he was received by its Commander, Lieutenant General Nikolaos Manolakos.

The Minister of National Defence discussed with the commands and the staff officers of the islands, by means of teleconference. He established the personnel’s excellent condition and high morale, as well as the effort made so as to provide housing in the Officers Quarters for the majority of the personnel serving at the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands. He congratulated them on the successful conclusion of the “Year of Reservists and Territorial Guards” and the increase of participation to the civil defence plan.

He underlined that the personnel and their housing conditions are a priority and emphasized that the efforts to ensure houses for the entire personnel serving at the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands are ongoing.
