The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos will participate in the joint meeting of EU Ministers of Defence and Foreign Affairs which will take place in Brussels on November 19 and 20, 2012.
On Monday November 19 2012, Mr. Panagiotopoulos will participate in the EDA (European Defence Agency) Steering Board Meeting, under the chairmanship of Baroness Catherine Ashton.
Afterwards, he will participate in the meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Council, under the chairmanship of Baroness Ashton, also attended by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
During the meeting, the following issues –among others– will be discussed:
- Issues of common security and defence policy of EU member-states.
- The adoption of a code of conduct on Pooling and Sharing that will aim at the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of EU member-states for the consolidation of defence cooperation in Europe.
