The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos will participate in NATO Defence Ministers’ Meetings that will take place in Brussels on February 21 and 22 2013.
The main issues to be discussed are the following:
- The implementation of the decisions taken at the NATO Chicago Summit, underlining common funding.
- The future of defence expenses and their effect on the Armed Forces’ readiness and role.
Moreover, there will also be a meeting between NATO Defence Ministers and the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, for the enhancement of NATO-Ukrainian relations.
Additionally, NATO Defence Ministers will be briefed on the situation in Afghanistan by the new ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) Commander, General Joseph Dunford.
