The Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos, after the end of the visit performed by the Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the “Syriza” party (Coalition of the Radical Left-United Social Front) Mr. Alexis Tsipras at the Hellenic Tactical Air Force Command (HTAF) in Larissa, where he was briefed by the Minister himself, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General (AF) Evangelos Tournas and the Chief of the Hellenic Tactical Air Force Command Lieutenant General (AF) Christos Vaitsis, made the following statement:

As Minister of National Defence, along with the leadership of the Hellenic Air Force, we received here at Larissa, the Chief of the Official Opposition Alexis Tsipras, who wished to visit the Hellenic Tactical Air Force Command, which is the heart of the Hellenic Air Force’s operational mechanism. The Armed Forces have always been and should carry on being the prominent place uniting the entire Nation, all the Greek people, all political forces. Particularly during these difficult times, we must keep our National and social cohesion. We should stay together, despite our various ideological and political origins; so as to overcome the difficulties, stand on our feet, surmount the hammer and the anvil. It is something we can do, something we will do, all together united”.
