On the subject of certain slanderous and manipulated reports, it is underlined that never did two frigates go to the islands of Paros and Tinos during the two-day celebration for the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, as falsely stated in some media.
The President of the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos and the Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Kamenos went to the celebrations onboard the frigate “Elli”, on which they staid overnight, on August 14th. It is the first time that a President of the Hellenic Republic stays overnight on a frigate of the Hellenic Navy. No other frigate sailed to the islands of Paros and Tinos during August 14-15.
