On Tuesday 11 July 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, visited the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and the Naval Academy.
The Deputy Minster, starting a series of visits, in the context of upgrading the medical and educational policy of the Ministry, accompanied by the Deputy Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis, the Director of the Medical Corps Dte/HAGS Major General Dimitrios Kasimos and the Director of the Medical Corps Dte/HNDGS Rear Admiral Antonios Papageorgiou HN, was informed by the Director of the hospital Major General Konstantinos Liaskonis on the structure, staffing and operation of the General Military Hospital of Athens. At the meeting, among other things, the perspective of the best organisation of the medical unit, and the simplification and acceleration of the procedures for the patients’ better service were discussed.
Next, he visited the Naval Academy, accompanied by the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymoussis HN. He was informed by the Commander Rear Admiral Christos Sasiakos HN and the academic personnel on the actions of the Academy, especially focusing on the academic, naval and military training, while the possibilities of quality upgrading of studies and its future perspectives were discussed.
