On Saturday, 13 May 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, in the context of his contacts not only with Armed Forces members but with the National Guardsmen as well, the other equally important force multiplier of the Army, with dynamic presence and missions along the country’s borders and beyond, observed the Field Training Exercise “LYSIMACHOS 2023”, concerning the safeguarding of vital facilities.

AF personnel and National Guardsmen of the 10^th Infantry Regiment, from Drama, Kavala and Sidirokastro National Guard Battalions, participated in the Exercise, which took place at Lefkogeia area of K. Nevrokopi, Drama Region.

The Exercise was also attended by the Commanding Generals of the 1^st Army/EU-OHQ Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos, of the C Army Corps/NRDC-GR Lieutenant General Paris Kapravelos and of the 10^th Infantry Regiment Colonel Adam Sarris, a delegation of Armed and Police Forces members, as well as retired members of the Army.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence congratulated all participants in the training activity for their professionalism, pride, high morale and effectiveness on the field, whereas he specifically stressed that the Armed Forces have proved that they are ready, determined and prepared to face successfully any challenge regarding safeguarding and defending the country’s territorial integrity.

In addition, the Deputy Minister of National Defence met today with the President and CEO of “F.H.L. I. KIRIAKIDIS MARBLES GRANITES S.A.” Group, Mr. Ilias Kiriakidis, at the Group’s offices headquarters, in the Industrial Zone of Prosotsani, Drama.

Mr. Hardalias thanked Mr. Kiriakidis for his love and respect towards the Armed Forces, as well as his important contribution through donations for the upgrade of facilities and monuments of the Military Academy.
