DepMin Thanassis Davakis visits 700 Military Plant and Armed Forces Chemical Laboratory

The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanassis Davakis visited today, 3 June 2026, the facilities of the 700 Military Plant and the Armed Forces Chemical Laboratory, in Keratsini.

Mr. Davakis was received by the Commanding General of the Supreme Army Support Military Command Lieutenant General Athanassios Saplaouras, the Commander of the 700 Military Plant Colonel Athanassios Goulas, and the Director of the Armed Forces Chemical Laboratory Colonel Vassilios Vassiliadis; he was also accompanied by the Director of the Ordnance Directorate Brigadier General Petros Perimenis, and the Commander of the Military Plants Command Brigadier General Efstathios Gotsis.

During his visit, the Deputy Minister was given a tour at the departments of clothing and footwear, at the plant’s museum, as well as at the laboratories of the Chemical Laboratory, where he was briefed on the mission, work, current activities and production capabilities, as well as on the laboratory equipment, and he discussed with the employees, military personnel, civilians and conscripts.

After completing his visit, Mr. Davakis stated:

I visited today the 700 Military Plant and the Armed Forces Chemical Laboratory, two units with a long history and essential contribution to the support of our Armed Forces.

I had the opportunity to be thoroughly briefed on the work performed, to ascertain the high level of professionalism characterizing the personnel, and to discuss with the military and civilian personnel who, with consistency and a sense of responsibility, contribute day after day to the fulfilment of the Plant’s and the Laboratory’s mission.

I would like to warmly thank the entire personnel, and to thank them for their contribution to the country. Their know-how, experience and devotion are a valuable heritage which we need to safeguard and support”.
