The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis attended the Funeral Service for Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis which was held at the Artillery School, Nea Peramos, Region of Attica, on Friday, 23 July 2021.
The Service was also attended by the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament

The Funeral Service of Hero Officer Stylianos Kalbourtzis, who was killed while defending our country and faith on 23 July 1974, was attended by his relatives, as well as by several of his living fellow soldiers, who served under his orders in the 181st Medium Artillery Battalion, fellow cadets from the Hellenic Army Academy class of 1950, retired Artillery Officers, relatives and families of missing Greek and Cypriot officers due to the invasion under Operation Attila.
The interment was held on a site inside the Monument to the Unknown Artilleryman, where the busts of Artillery Second Lieutenant Pavlos Melas, Artillery Major Dimitrios Kostakis, Artillery Lieutenant Colonel Stylianos Kalbourtzis, Artillery Major Konstantinos Versis and Artillery Lieutenant Colonel Emmanouil Chatzidakis have been placed.
