The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, attended the Ceremony for the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the first Sacred Band, which took place in Pedion tou Areos. His Beatitude Ieronymos ΙΙ, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece and Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece and the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis also attended the ceremony.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsarouha stated:

“Honoring the fallen of the Sacred Band with the highest tribute, I thank and congratulate those who realized today’s ceremony.

I assure you that through our decisions, we will honor the sacrifices of all Greeks who fought for their country. By following their steps, we will remain firm, struggling for the Country’s ideals, for Orthodoxy and Hellenism, in full alertness, defending Sovereignty.”
