On 28 October 2018, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, represented the Hellenic Government at the celebration of 28 October national holiday, in Serres. She attended the official Doxology at the Metropolitan Church of Holy Archangels in Serres. A parade and a wreath laying ceremony followed.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsarouha stated:
“The country, the Hellenic Army and every Greek fighting for his freedom and dignity celebrate today. The 1940 War Epic proved that, through these ideals and with unity, we Greeks can defeat the strongest enemy.
On the contrary, we realize, once again these days, with all the facts revealed due to the persistence of the Government and the Hellenic Justice, that every time some people placed themselves above the laws and the Country, they damaged our country and harmed all Greeks.
We keep struggling, so that Greece becomes once again a source of pride for every Greek and a global beacon of determination, justice and progress. We will not hesitate, if the developments require so, to make the hardest decisions. We owe it to the sacrifices of our fathers and grandfathers, as well as to the future generations.
Happy national day to all Greeks!”
