The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha delivered a speech and attended the final stage of “PARMENION-2018” exercise on Friday, 12 October, 2018.
The Deputy Minister, in her speech, stressed the following:
“This high morale, this participation, full of courage and maturity, and this flawless cooperation of the Military forces with the Civil Defence and Emergency Planning Agencies and with National Guard units, indicate the high level of training and military knowledge of the Greek army, as well as its operational readiness and capability of combating any threat regardless of where it comes from.
With God’s blessing and loyal to the ideals and the sacred symbols of our Faith and Land, the Hellenic Armed Forces are a symbol of Force, Courage and Free and Combat Spirit, for every Greek woman and man.
Congratulations to everybody.”

“Generals and commanders of the army, officers, personnel and soldiers,
I was very touched and I felt great admiration while I attended the completion of the large-scale national exercise “PARMENION-2018”.
Your high morale, your participation, full of courage and maturity, and the flawless cooperation of the Military forces with the Civil Defence and Emergency Planning Agencies and with National Guard units, indicate the high level of training and military knowledge of the Greek army, as well as your operational readiness and capability of combating any threat regardless of where it comes from.
You proved, once more, that you are the force with high skills and strong planning ability.
I would like to thank each one of you personally because, with your force and ability, you make every Greek confident that we can defeat any threat against our Freedom and our Democracy.
Your presence and your readiness guarantee Freedom, Peace and Democracy in the entire region of South-eastern Europe and Mediterranean Sea.
On behalf of the Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Kammenos, I thank the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff and the leaders of the Armed Forces, the Chiefs of General Staffs and their associates, the Officers, NCOs, Conscripts and National Guardsmen for the impressive and successful completion of the Exercise and for the high morale they inspire to all of us.
I would like to assure you that we, on our part, as representatives of the citizens and of democracy, we will be always working at your side in order to reinforce the army and to make the Hellenic Army a powerful, effective and, above all, a safe –for all its personnel – tool of our Democracy.
Greek officers and Greek Reservists, with God’s blessing and loyal to the ideals and the sacred symbols of our Faith and Land, you are symbols of Force, Courage and Free and Combat Spirit, for every Greek woman and man.
Who covet the ideals of our Land and Nation, should know that they will face you, the most worthy descendants of a nation that never feared anyone and never gave in, even in the hardest moments of history.
