On Thursday, July 13th 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, visited the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital and the Hellenic Air Force Academy.
Accompanied by the Deputy Chief/HAFGS Major General Antonios Panidis, the Director of the Medical Corps Dte/HNDGS Rear Admiral Antonios Papageorgiou, and the Director of the Medical Corps Dte/HAFGS Major General Panagiotis Kostopoulos, the Deputy Minister was informed by the Director of the Hospital, Brigadier General Konstantinos Siafakas, on the structure, staffing and operation of the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital, while its capabilities and its potential were discussed.
Next, Mr. Kefalogiannis visited the Hellenic Air Force Academy, accompanied by the Deputy Chief/HAFGS Major General Antonios Panidis, and was informed by the Commander Major General Konstantinos Karamesinis on the organization and mission of the Academy, as well as on the programme of military and academic training for Aviation Cadets. At the same time, the cooperation and exchange visits with respective foreign Academies were discussed. Finally, he was given a tour by Cadets at the Historical Memory area, where he became a partaker of the Academy’s history.
