Deputy Defence Minister Nikolaos Chardalias visits 401st Athens General Army Hospital

The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias, visited 401st Athens General Army Hospital on Tuesday, 1 March 2022, accompanied by the Chief/HAGS, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis and the Director of the HNDGS Medical Corps Directorate, Major General (HAF Medical Corps) Dimitrios Chatzigeorgiou.

Mr. Chardalias was briefed by the Commander of the Army Hospital, Major General Dimitrios Kasimos, on the Hospital’s organization, operation, and current activities.

During the visit, he briefly toured the Hospital premises and infrastructure, whilst he took the occasion to talk with physicians, nurses, Hospital administrative staff, inpatients and the persons accompanying them.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence stressed the uninterrupted contribution of Military Hospitals and Armed Forces’ medical personnel to Greek society, and – whereby their assistance – to the handling of the health crisis. He concurrently congratulated the 401st Athens General Army Hospital Commanding Officers, physicians, nurses and administrative personnel who go to great lengths on a daily basis to provide high-quality health services to active and retired military personnel and members of their families. He also congratulated the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence civilian personnel, the Security Services personnel, as well as the Hospital’s civilian personnel.
