The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias completed, on 13 February 2022, his four day visits to Formations, Units and Surveillance Outposts of the three Branches of the Armed Forces, in seventeen remote islands and isles of the Aegean Sea.
Today’s schedule included Deputy Minister’s visits to:
– The HQ of the 80th Higher National Guard Battalions Command, the Surveillance Outpost “SKANDARI” in Kos, as well as the Patrol Boat “ANTONIOU” of the Hellenic Navy which is stationed at the port of the island.
– Symi island, where he visited the base of the Island Defence Command and the Surveillance Outpost “AGIOS FANOURIOS”. During his visit to the island, he met with His Eminence the Metropolitan of Symi, Tilos, Chalki and Kastellorizo Chrysostomos and the Mayor of Symi Mr. Eleftherios Papakalodoukas.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Commander of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands Lieutenant General Nikolaos Flaris.
