The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias opened today, Tuesday 22 February 2022, the Conference “Two years of COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges and Lessons Learned for the Armed Forces”, which was organised by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, at the amphitheater of the War Museum.
Speakers at the Conference were distinguished scientists from the Health Department, the University Community and the Armed Forces; among them, the General Secretary of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health Mr. Marios Themistokleous, the President of the Public Health Experts Committee and Professor of Pathology and Infectious Diseases at the Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Mr. Sotirios Tsiodras, and the Professor of Pathophysiology of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Mr. Nikolaos Sypsas, member of the National Committee for the Protection of Public Health against the coronavirus COVID-19 of the Ministry of Health.
The conference was also attended by the Minister of Health Mr. Athanassios Plevris, the Alternate Minister of Health Ms. Assimina Gaga, the Deputy Minister of Health, responsible for Mental Health issues Ms. Zoi Rapti, the Chief/HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros, the Regional Governor of Attica Mr. Georgios Patoulis, the Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Charalambos Laloussis, the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis HN and the Chief/HAFGS Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias, the General Secretary of Civil Protection Lieutenant General (ret.) Mr. Vassilios Papageorgiou, as well as delegations of the Security Corps’ Chiefs.
