The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, concluding his 2-day visit to islands of the Eastern Aegean Sea, visited today, Wednesday 28 September 2022, the HQs of Units and Surveillance
Outposts of the Army and the Hellenic Navy, as follows:
– The Surveillance Outpost of Halki, in Halki.
– The 3rd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Karpathos, in Kasos.
– The 2nd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Kos, in Astypalea.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence was briefed by the Commands on the ongoing operational and training activities of the Units, and he discussed with the personnel, the conscripts and the National Guardsmen.
In addition, during his stay in Astypalea, he visited the Fast Patrol Missile Boat TROUPAKIS which participates in the “COAST RECOGNITION 2022” Exercise. Mr. Hardalias was briefed by the Commander on the missile boat’s mission and operational capabilities, he discussed with its crew, and he monitored at sea operational training matters, in the context of the exercise.
Mr. Hardalias also met with the Mayors of Halki Mr. Evaggelos Fraggakis, of Kasos Mr. Mihail Erotokritos, and of Astypalea Mr. Nikolaos Komineas, as well as with the Commanders of the local Security Corps’ Services.
The Deputy Minister of National defence was accompanied by the following Commanders: of the 95 National Guard Higher Command Major General Dimitrios Vakentis, and of the 80 National Guard Higher Command Brigadier General Spyridon Kogiannis, as well as by the Deputy Commander of the 95 National Guard Higher Command Brigadier General Mihail Roussinos.
