The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis attended today, representing the President of the Hellenic Government, the official ceremony of the 79 th commemoration day of the Holocaust of Anogeia, and its razing by the German conquerors on 13 August 1944, held in Anogeia.
After the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of National Defence stated:
“Feeling really touched and respectful, we are in Anogeia one more time, to honor the relatives, ancestors and our fellow villagers, who gave their life for the Freedom of our Homeland; also, to honor in total all Greeks who fought during those hard years against the Axis powers. Their life and struggle set an example.
Today, the women and men of the Armed Forces ensure everyday Freedom, Independence and National Integrity for our Homeland.
