The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis attended the Celebration for the Liberation of Chios by Greece, as the Representative of the President of the Hellenic Government, on Saturday 21 December 2019, at the Karyes village.
In the context of the events, a doxology was conducted at the Holy Church of the Assumption of Mary, officiated by His Eminence the Metropolitan Bishop of Chios, Psarra and Inousses Markos, in the presence of delegates of local authorities, the Army, the Navy, the Police, the Fire Brigade, the Port Authority as well as associations and students.
During his visit to Chios, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis boarded a Port Authority vessel which conducts patrols in the wider area and talked with the crew.
