On Tuesday, 22 October 2019, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited Units in Thessaly.
First, the Deputy Minister of National Defence visited the 1st Army Aviation Brigade in the military airfield of Stefanovikio, Magnisia, where he was given a tour of airfield facilities [OH-58D KW helicopter training area, Host Nation Support Coordination Centre (HNSCC), UH-1H & OH-58D helicopter maintenance hangar, etc.] and addressed the airfield’s military and civilian personnel.
He then went to Larissa, where he visited the 303rd Forward Base Plant. The Deputy Minister of National Defence was briefed on the upgrade of the plant’s buildings and production line with the use of the new battery plate dryer.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Army Inspector General and Commander of the Training Doctrine Command, Lieutenant General Antonios Nomikos, and the Commanding General of the Higher Army Support Military Command, Lieutenant General Vasilios Papadopoulos.
