On New Year’s Eve, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited Hellenic Army and Air Force Units in Kastanies, Evros and Magnisia.
First, the Deputy Minister went to Nea Anchialos Air Base, where he discussed and exchanged wishes with the pilots and engineers of the 111th Combat Wing, which operates readiness aircraft.
The Deputy Minister then went to Kastanies, Evros and visited Surveillance Outpost “1”, where he celebrated the New Year with the garrison and spent the night.
During his visits, the Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied, as appropriate, by the Chief of Hellenic Tactical Air Force, Lieutenant General (HAF) Themistoklis Bourolias, the Commanding General of the XVI Mechanised Infantry Division, Major General Angelos Ilaridis, the Commanding General of the 32nd Marine Brigade, Brigadier General Panagiotis Kordoulis, and the Commanding General of the 3rd Brigade, Brigadier General Grigorios Bountliakis.
