On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 May 2020, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the 8th Motorised Brigade AoR, in Epirus, in order to monitor the assets and procedures for the border surveillance and security.
The visits started from the “MOLYVDOSKEPASTO” surveillance Outpost and then the Minister visited the Outposts of “KAKAVIA”, “MAVROMATI” and “KATO AETOS”.
Moreover, he visited Custom Offices, Border Stations and Hellenic Coast Guard Services located in the area.
Finally, the Deputy Minister of National Defence met with the mayor of Mesolongi Mr. Kostas Lyros, while before that he had participated in a surveillance activity aboard a Hellenic Coast Guard vessel, during which they sailed around the Diapontian Islands.
