On Thursday, 28 January 2021, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the Hellenic Defence Systems SA (EVO-PYRKAL) plant in Aegio, where he was briefed by the Management and the Workers’ Union on the plant’s current needs and capabilities, while he also referred to ways to upgrade and utilise its know-how and infrastructure.
The tour was also attended by the CEO of Hellenic Defence Systems, Mr. Nikolaos Kostopoulos, and the New Democracy MPs for Achaia, Mr. Iasonas Fotilas and Mr. Angelos Tsigris.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence and the two MPs then met the Mayor of Aegialia, Mr. Dimitrios Kalogeropoulos.
While in Aegio, the Deputy Minister visited the “Iakovos Tsounis” Museum. The ship-owner and Museum founder, Mr. Iakovos Tsounis, provided national and religious relics from his own personal collection for his creation.
