The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, representing the Hellenic Government, attended today, Saturday 5 February 2022, the honorary remembrance event organised by the Municipality of Piraeus, for the 63 fallen Officers, NCOs and Aircraftmen who were flying with the C-130 transport aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force, which crashed on Mount Othrys on 5 February 1991.
At the ceremony, which took place at the “Iroon Aeroporon kai Pesonton C-130″ (Heroic Airmen and Fallen of the C-130) Square, in Piraeus, a memorial service was held, followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the monument of the fallen.
The ceremony was attended by family members of the fallen, the MP for Piraeus A’ District Mr. Nikolaos Manolakos, representing the Hellenic Parliament, the Mayor of Piraeus Mr. Ioannis Moralis, the Commander of the Hellenic Air Force Support Command Major General Georgios Vagenas, and delegations of the Armed Forces and Security Corps personnel.
