On Sunday, 25 April 2021, ANZAC Day, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as at the Allied War Cemetery in Faliro, in honour of the Australian and New Zealander expeditionary forces who participated in WWI operations.
25 April 1915 was the first day of the Gallipoli landings and is celebrated as ANZAC Day.
The memorial events were also attended by the Ambassador of Australia to Greece, Mr. Arthur Spyrou, and the Honorary Ambassador of New Zealand, Ms. Ioanna Gouvatsou.
