Today, Wednesday 5 May 2021, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the islands of Kos and Farmakonisi.
He attended the centenary celebration ceremony of the Holy Temple of Agios Georgios in Farmakonisi, accompanied by the Mayor of Leros Mr. Michalis Kolias. Then he went to the Surveillance Outpost of Farmakonisi, where he wished a Happy Easter Holiday to the personnel on duty.
Then he visited the 80 Higher National Guard Battalions Command in Kos and was briefed by its Commander Brigadier General Triantafyllos Theodosios on the current actions implemented in the Formations AoR. He also congratulated the personnel on their high morale and constant readiness.
During his stay at the island of Kos the Deputy Minister of National Defence met with the Metropolitan of Kos and Nisyros His Eminence Nathaniel and the Mayor of the island Mr. Theodosis Nikitaras.
